intro
pileus
30± mm wide as dried, grayish brown fresh [pale brown, close to clay or yellowish brown (5D5) as dried], apparently hemispheric, shiny as dried; context ?; margin striate (0.3R as dried), nonappendiculate, possibly incurved at first; universal veil absent.
lamellae
free, close, white (as dried, paler and yellower than pileus), probably rather narrow; lamellulae truncate to subattenuate.
stipe
61 × 4 mm as dried, undecorated, concolorous as dried; context ?; exannulate; universal veil as saccate volva, white, membranous, with tip of limb up to 18 mm from base as dried.
Each spore data set is intended to comprise a set of measurements from a single specimen made by a single observer;
and explanations prepared for this site talk about specimen-observer pairs associated with each data set.
Combining more data into a single data set is non-optimal because it obscures observer differences
(which may be valuable for instructional purposes, for example) and may obscure instances in which
a single collection inadvertently contains a mixture of taxa.
